HI David, thanks so much for your comments. With your help, I believe that we can find out more about E. Jack Fowler. Please email me at debfowler@aol.com to discuss some research options. Thanks so much!
Hi David! I’m just seeing this for the first time, and you may have found some of this more recently so apologies if I’m noting what you’ve already discovered. E. J. Fowler was my 2nd great grandfather. Through the help of Deb Fowler, I was able to piece together some information. E. J. Fowler (1854-1893) was Ellis Jackson “Jack” Fowler, son of Ellis Fowler (1803-1860) and Jane Hodge (1826-1879). Ellis Fowler was a son of Mark Fowler (1780-1853) and a grandson of Henry Ellis Fowler (1746-1808).
Ellis Jackson “Jack” Fowler married Ellen Woolbright Fowler Bullocks (1860-1935). My great grandmother, Amberzine Fowler Rogers, was close to her mother Ellen Fowler, who died in her home while being cared for by Amberzine. For the longest time my family only knew Amberzine’s father as “Jack Fowler” through info the children remembered her telling. We also knew of some of Jack and Ellen’s other children: Smith (Robert Smith), Lonnie (Alonzo), Eliza, and Beulah. If you see this, I would love to connect and share with you the photos I have of Jack Fowler’s wife Ellen, their daughter Amberzine and the other adult children. If you have access to a photo of Robert Smith Fowler, we’d love to see it and add a copy – he’s the only sibling who lived to adulthood whose photo we’ve never been able to track down. My email is iphoneforjosh@gmail.com.
You could be an important part of this research. We need a direct descended Fowler man to yDNA test to prove beyond all doubt the paper research for Ellis Jackson Fowler.
Hi. I am so happy to be here! I am trying to find the graves of all of my kin. Under Winnifred Fowler If you go down to Peggy Kelly it says she is married to James Osment. He was her second husband. Her first husband was Bobby Ray Upchurch. I believe they meet at church. Bobby wrote many of love letters to her which I have. They got secretly married as she was still in high school, but it didn’t stay a secret long and she didn’t get to graduate as she got pregnant with my father, John Ray Upchurch. She then went on to have James Dean Upchurch. They lived on the Upchurch family land, until they had to sale to Duke Power. This was a forced sale. She eventually did go back and get her GED. After which, she worked and eventually retired from Temkin. Bobby did live to see my father marry my mom Deanna Peeler and my Uncle Dean marry Cathy Millen. Bobby passed away after a heart transplant. He contracted the the flu, and then was also given blood with Hepatitis in it due to the lack of testing at the time. He passed 14 Mar 1993 (aged 55). I can’t remember what year she married James. They worked together at Temkin. James was a very good husband to Mowmow Peggy. Together they had a house at lake Greenwood, which was a special place for her and Bobby. He was very kind to the Upchurch family, let Peggy’s mom Charlie Mae stay with them some in her old age, and James cared for Peggy during her years of dementia. Anyway, If you want to add us to the list you can. John Ray Upchurch and Deanna Peller had Cheryl Upchurch. I had Veronica Ann Parris out of wedlock and later married Carl J. Polivka. I now have Carl Jr. and Millard Ray Polivka. Dean and Cathy had Abbie Grace Upchurch and she has recently gotten married to Cade Crusan.
